Favordog gives you the opportunity to bring together your immediate circle of friends and acquaintances and host your own private contests. YOU can shape the field -- take on your buddies or your entire office.

We do all the work. So what are you waiting for? It's so easy. Just create a private contest and email the people you want to join. All we ask is that these are people who like to have fun...Then sit back and let favordog run the show!

How to Play

At the outset of a new contest, each player in the contest is given a set number of bank points (usually 1500). You may risk these bank points as little or as often as you like, with a minimum of 1 and a maximum of your bankroll. There are no rules on the amount of games you must play. The players with the most bank points at the end of a contest are your winners.

Please Note: Bank points are simply used to determine the rank or position of a contestant within a contest and do not reflect actual dollar values won or lost.

Most favordog contests offer both regular spread picks and over/under picks. Golf contests differ in format.

  • Spread picks involve selecting the winning team of a given game against a predetermined point spread.
  • Over/Under picks involve selecting whether the final combined score of the game will be over or under the game’s target score.

As games within the contest become available, the contestant may choose to participate and make their pick and allocate up to the maximum number of points from their point bank. At the end of the contest, the contestants with the highest bank points are your winners.

Players will have access to pick games up until the time displayed for the game to begin or the game actually begins. After the game time has been reached, no further picks on the game will be accepted. Also, once a game begins you can view other entrants picks by clicking on their username in the leaderboard window.

To make spread picks: Select the game by checking the game’s checkbox, then enter the number of bank points you would like to allocate to the game. After entering your bank points, make your selection for the winner of the game given the point spread. Next be sure to click submit picks. After submitting a pick(s) always go to my picks to verify picks are correct.

To make over/under picks: Select the game by checking the game’s checkbox, then enter the number of bank points you would like to allocate to the game. After entering your bank points, make your pick for whether the final score will be over or under the predefined target score. Next be sure to click submit picks. After submitting a pick(s) always go to my picks to verify picks are correct.

It is up to the discretion of the gamemaker (favordog.com) to remove any game where an incorrect line has been posted or other circumstances adversely affect the integrity of the contest.

Golf Rules

The rules are simple:
You pick four golfers every day of the tournament. You can select a golfer anytime before they tee off for that round. If you’d like you can select all 16 golfers at once but be sure to check that all of your golfers make the cut after round 2. Note: you will always have the ability to change a golfer up until a golfers tee time.

How it is scored:
You simply earn the scores your golfers shoot. After four days, your 16-golfer score is totaled. Lowest scores win. You will only be able to pick a golfer once during a tournament. If you forget to pick a golfer, your golfer withdraws or is DQ'd before they finish their round, your score will be 80 for that player. If your golfer withdraws or is DQ'd after the round, the score they shot will still be used. And most importantly — enjoy the action!
